Week 29# (19) 100 Word Challenge.

The Greasy Gnome.

The Greasy Gnome was a Gnome that was greasy like an brown eighties hair cut. So one day he was going around like his greasy self when these kids bullied him.

He killed them with his pistol because they had hurt his feelings.

Later his chocolate melted and boy was he mad. He decided to eat some fries. Again he got mad. There was to much salt. Then there was a knock on the door.  He opened it and it was the Giraffe Police and they were not pleased. He was sentenced to death by kitty cat.

The “Red Baron”- my week 9 quality post :,)

The Red Baron or his real name Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen ( geez thats a mouthful) , was a German fighter pilot in the First World War. He was the best fighter ace on earth to be honest, because he has been credited 80 air combat victories! Now in case you don’t know that’s amazing.

He flew the original Fokker DR1 Dreidecker was one of the best planes in those days.

The Red Baron was born on 2nd of May 1892 and died on the 21st of April 1918 but more on that later.

He served from 1911 to 1918 and in that time he had been given many awards in his time including… Pour le Merite, Order of the Red Eagle, House Order of  Hohenzollern and last but absolutely NOT lest the Iron Cross.

When he was a young lad he joined the military and became a part of the Unlan. The Unlan was a Polish light cavalry armed with lances, sabres and pistols. Unlan means “young man” and/or “brave warrior”.

So the Red Baron died in 1918, shot down by allied forces so the great man was gone but he forever will be the best pilot who flew in the sky.

Lab in a Box

LAB IN A BOX -by Lachy Dachy Lachlan

So, today ( the 21th of March) we had Lab in a Box in the school hall. We had:

< Acids and Liquids

<Urine* sampling

<Brain cells

<Vision googles

*it was fake urine

I was in group 2 with Lewis and Alex starting with urine sampling(we weren’t made to collect it…) and we learned what a healthy urine looks like. We also learned what wee urine from someone who has diabetes looks like.

Next for us was Brain cells. We all (well as far as I can gather) had a good time making axons and learning about the human Brain.

One of my favourites was the vision googles which first you sit on a seat and try to throw six balls into some bins. Sounds easy enough, no? Try it with the googles on.
All most nobody managed to get a ball in the bins. In fact, as far as I’m concerned nobody, but Brodie (he says he did it by closing one eye) and me (by literally aiming as far away while still facing it).

Last was acids/liquids. We learn about what different acids are more harmful and that coke is the same (almost) as vinegar but it is masked by sugar.

It all so much fun and I hope we can do it again.

P.S. Regan got a chocolate bar.

5. Goats eyes are rectangular

6. A goats lifespan is usually 15-18 years

7. My favourite goat is the Booted Goat

8. Goats were one of the first animals to be tamed by humans and were herded 9,000 years ago

A very dull day

Nobody likes being sick. I am no exception. On the 6th of March 2019 I was sick. This is the tale o’ woe.

I first fell ill on the 1st of the third (March) at around 6 o’clock at night. I had a fever, sore throat and a headache. I was made to stay home from school and swimming sports.

On the 3rd (a Saturday) I felt a little bit better. But at 7 o’clock I felt sick again! But on Sunday (the 4th) in the morning I was fine, so I wandered around the house, read some books and slept outside in the sun with my cat.

Then as night fell yet again…ILLNESS!!! My health went up and down for until the 7th of March it stopped so I went back to school. But I’m mainly meant to talk about the 6th so now we shall go back in time for a very boring day…

I woke up. Then I moaned and went back to sleep for another hour or so. Then I woke up again. I moaned again and slowly crawled out of bed. I grabbed some random socks put them on, put on my onesie, wrapped a blanket around me and when to the kitchen.

I took a piece of bread and shoved it in the toaster. I lay down until my toast popped and got up. I washed my hands and spread some peanut butter on it. It tasted weird. Peanut butter always tastes weird when I’m sick. Same with water. I felt quite bad about Levi doing the biking that I was meant to do.

After breakfast and having and drink my head felt better so I read a bit of a book. After reading started to watch some TV. A wee while later my cat came and curled up on my lap. I then went to sleep.

Later on during the day I went to the dining room table to set up some toy soldiers. I went on having battles in the trenches, German and British soldiers firing away at each other with tanks being blown up by mines and planes dropping bombshells. But then an Austrian soldier with a bayonet fell of the table. I bent over to pick it up but then something not very good happened. So, when I straighten back up I turned around at the same time and the result was a heavy nosebleed for half an hour.

So, yeah it wasn’t a very good day.
